The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has suspended the planned pre-shipment inspection of imported used vehicles, pending the announcement of a new implementation date.
The suspension, announced in a public notice issued on Monday, October 5, 2026, affects vehicle importers and other stakeholders involved in the importation of used vehicles into Ghana.
The GSA said the pre-shipment inspection exercise had been suspended but did not provide a reason for the decision.
It said a new date for the commencement of the exercise would be communicated in due course.
The notice was signed by the Director-General of the GSA, Prof. George Agyei.
The suspension means the planned inspection regime for imported used vehicles will not take effect until a new date is announced by the Authority.
