The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) has engaged a Chinese business delegation on investment and partnership opportunities in Ghana’s health sector, with local manufacturing highlighted as a key area for potential collaboration.
The delegation visited GIPA as part of activities leading up to the China-West Africa Medical and Health Industry Expo 2026.
During the engagement, the Head of the Investment Promotion and Business Development Division at GIPA, Kwame Kesse-Agyepong, outlined Ghana’s investment environment and opportunities available within the health sector.
Mr Kesse-Agyepong encouraged the Chinese investors to look beyond supplying medical and pharmaceutical products to Ghana and consider establishing manufacturing and production operations locally.
He said such investments could deepen cooperation between Ghana and China while creating opportunities for local production within the health industry.

The engagement also provided a platform for the two sides to explore potential partnerships and identify new areas for investment cooperation between Ghanaian and Chinese businesses.
The upcoming China-West Africa Medical and Health Industry Expo 2026 is expected to provide further opportunities for businesses from both markets to connect and explore commercial partnerships.
The engagement forms part of GIPA’s efforts to attract investment into strategic sectors of the Ghanaian economy and position the country as a destination for international investors.
