Fire Aid UK boosts GNFS with fire tender and equipment

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has received a fire tender and additional firefighting equipment from Fire Aid UK to strengthen emergency response operations across the country.

The donation was presented at a brief ceremony held at the Accra International Airport, bringing together officials from Ghana and the United Kingdom in a show of continued cooperation in emergency management support.

The event highlighted ongoing international partnerships aimed at improving Ghana’s fire and rescue capacity, particularly in response time and operational readiness.

Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, Chief Fire Officer of the GNFS, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong, and several senior directors of the Service.

The UK delegation was led by Robert MacDougall, Chief Fire Officer at Oxfordshire County Council, alongside Storms Menri.

The support forms part of broader assistance from Fire Aid UK designed to enhance the operational capabilities of the GNFS and improve emergency response systems nationwide.

Officials at the ceremony expressed confidence that the newly acquired equipment will significantly boost firefighting efficiency and strengthen the Service’s ability to respond to emergencies across Ghana.
