Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Mrs Sabah Zita Benson, has been named among the Top 100 Ghanaians Powerlist 2025 compiled by communications and ratings firm, Avance Media.
The annual ranking celebrates individuals considered to be shaping national life across key sectors, including governance, business, civil society, media, security, education, law, religion and traditional leadership.
Mrs Benson features on a list that also includes President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohonu, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.
Reacting to the recognition, the High Commissioner expressed appreciation for the honour, describing it as both humbling and motivating.
“I feel highly honored and deeply humbled to be recognized. Recognition is the reward, but my joy is being able to make a positive impact in our people’s lives.”
She said the acknowledgement carries a responsibility, particularly for young women and girls who look up to her leadership.
“As one of the few women recognized, I know that my sisters are looking up to me, and so I will continue to work hard to ignite the change that will bring more women on board. I shall use this recognition as fuel for fire to shine a light on others.”
Mrs Benson also reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Ghanaians in the diaspora and projecting Ghana positively on the global stage, while encouraging women and girls to remain focused and ambitious.
“My goal is to inspire my sisters to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more while focusing on the impact we make along the way,” she said.
