Management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has procured and handed over a new fleet of vehicles to enhance operational efficiency at the refinery, marking the first major logistical support since 2013.
The fleet comprises eight brand new Mitsubishi vehicles, three Toyota Coaster buses, two industrial forklifts, and other essential operational vehicles to support day-to-day activities across the refinery.
The intervention comes at a critical time, as the refinery has for years faced severe logistical constraints that adversely affected productivity and slowed operational progress. The absence of adequate operational logistics over the period significantly impacted staff movement and internal operations.
The Board Chairman of TOR, Nayon Bilijo, officially commissioned the fleet and authorised its immediate deployment for official and operational use.

Management said the vehicles were procured using the refinery’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF), generated in 2025 under the new management, similar to other works undertaken by the company.
Management expressed appreciation to the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Jinapor, for their support, strategic direction and commitment to the refinery’s revitalisation agenda.

The management of TOR also commended the workforce for their resilience, dedication and continued support, describing staff commitment as critical to sustaining operations during challenging periods.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen operational coordination and improve efficiency as the refinery continues efforts towards sustainable recovery and improved performance.
