Three students of Swedru School of Business have been arrested in connection with the assault of a student from Obrachire Senior High School, an incident captured in a viral video that sparked public outrage.
The arrests followed an engagement between the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Lydia Yaako Donkor, and the management of Swedru School of Business on February 23, 2026.
Later that evening, school authorities presented the three suspects to the Swedru Divisional Police Command.
The suspects have been identified as:
- Joseph Amoh, 20
- Benedict Appiah, 18
- Bilal Mamud, 18
Police authorities confirmed that the students have been taken into custody and will be put before court.
The Central Regional Police Command condemned the violent conduct, urging students and the public to refrain from engaging in acts of violence. Authorities reiterated their commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring that individuals involved in unlawful behaviour are held accountable.

Public Affairs Unit of the Central Regional Command, led by Chief Inspector Isaac Evans Ettie, appealed for calm and responsible conduct among students, stressing that educational institutions should remain spaces of learning and discipline rather than conflict.
The case has reignited discussions on student discipline and the role of educational institutions in addressing behavioural issues before they escalate into criminal acts.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the court date for the suspects. Further updates are expected as the legal process unfolds.
