Speaker Bagbin visits W.E.B. Du Bois Museum, reaffirms Pan-African legacy

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has paid a working visit to the W.E.B. Du Bois Museum Foundation to familiarise himself with the state of development of the centre and to reflect on the enduring legacy of Pan-Africanism.

During the visit, the Speaker toured the memorial residence, archival displays and preserved writings of William Edward Burghardt Du Bois, examining personal works that chronicle the intellectual life and historical influence of one of Africa’s foremost Pan-African thinkers.

Rt. Hon. Bagbin described the experience as both nostalgic and deeply inspiring, noting that Du Bois’ philosophical and political ideas laid an important foundation for Africa’s intellectual awakening and liberation struggle.

He encouraged Ghanaians and visitors alike to patronise and support the museum as a vital institution for preserving African identity, culture and historical memory.

The Speaker also expressed his commitment to supporting efforts aimed at sustaining and developing the centre for future generations.
