Award-winning Ghanaian musicians Shatta Wale and Medikal have partnered with the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) to promote locally manufactured gold jewellery as part of efforts to advance Ghana’s gold value addition agenda.
The artistes paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, to discuss a strategic collaboration aimed at increasing the visibility of GoldBod Jewellery and showcasing the quality of Ghanaian craftsmanship on both local and international platforms.
As part of the partnership, Shatta Wale and Medikal pledged to promote locally crafted gold jewellery through their music, public appearances, social media platforms and international engagements, including the upcoming ShattaFest UK, to project Ghanaian-made jewellery to a global audience.
The initiative is expected to support efforts to increase demand for locally produced gold jewellery while encouraging value addition within Ghana’s gold industry.

Welcoming the collaboration, GoldBod Chief Executive Officer Sammy Gyamfi described the partnership as a significant step towards strengthening the country’s jewellery industry, creating sustainable employment opportunities and positioning Ghana as Africa’s leading hub for gold value addition.
He noted that leveraging the influence of Ghana’s creative industry would help raise awareness of locally manufactured jewellery and contribute to efforts to maximise the economic benefits of the country’s mineral resources.

The partnership forms part of GoldBod’s broader strategy to promote Made-in-Ghana products, stimulate local manufacturing and create jobs through value addition in the gold sector.
By working with influential figures in the entertainment industry, the board hopes to strengthen national pride in Ghanaian products while boosting the country’s jewellery industry and overall economy.
