NPA hosts CEOs breakfast meeting ahead of Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCon) 2026

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has convened chief executive officers of key public and private institutions within the petroleum downstream sector at a breakfast meeting held in Accra.

The engagement forms part of preparations for the 2026 Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCon), scheduled for July 2026 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Welcoming participants, NPA Chief Executive, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, noted that the meeting offered an opportunity to unveil the theme for GhIPCon 2026 and to gather industry perspectives ahead of the flagship conference.

GhIPCon, Ghana’s premier downstream petroleum conference, attracts over 1,500 participants from more than 25 countries, providing a platform to exchange insights on policy, regulatory developments, operational strategies, innovation and investment opportunities.

The biennial event is organised by the NPA in partnership with the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) and the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.

The 2026 theme, “Building a Resilient Downstream: Policy, Innovation and Investment for Growth”, was officially unveiled by the NPA Chief Executive, who highlighted that it reflects the essential pillars required to secure the future of the downstream industry. A Technical Committee was also inaugurated to steer the organisation of GhIPCon 2026.

Delivering the keynote address, the Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah, commended the NPA and its partners for their leadership in strengthening the sector. He emphasised the importance of stakeholder engagement in shaping responsive policies and reiterated the Ministry’s full support for GhIPCon.

During an open forum, industry stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the progress of GhIPCon over the years and encouraged the NPA to collaborate closely with partners to implement key recommendations from past conferences. They pledged their continued support for GhIPCon 2026.
