President John Dramani Mahama has opened the Northshore Apparel Hub in Savelugu in the Northern Region, positioning the facility as part of government’s strategy to expand manufacturing and create jobs under the 24-Hour Economy initiative.
The modern apparel manufacturing facility is expected to increase local production, create employment opportunities and support economic activity in the Northern Region.
The project also forms part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s textile and apparel industry by increasing domestic manufacturing capacity and creating opportunities for value addition.
The facility incorporates sustainable and zero-waste production practices, linking its manufacturing activities to efforts to promote industrial growth while reducing environmental impact.

The government’s 24-Hour Economy initiative is aimed at expanding productive activity, creating jobs and supporting businesses through increased economic activity beyond traditional working hours.
The opening was attended by the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; German Ambassador to Ghana Frederik Landshöft; Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy Initiative, Goosie Tanoh; and Ghana Export-Import Bank Chief Executive Sylvester Adinam Mensah.

The establishment of the hub in Savelugu adds to government’s efforts to decentralise industrial development and create employment opportunities outside Ghana’s major commercial centres.
