Langaville Orlando Pirates supporters celebrate 20 years with anniversary event and elections

Tsakani – The Langaville Orlando Pirates Supporters branch celebrated its 20-year anniversary and held elections for the 2026 to 2028 term at the Kwa-Thema Old Age Home on May 9.

The branch, which began with seven co-founders in 2006, reflected on two decades of growth, unity and commitment to supporting the club.

“Of the seven founding members, only two remain active in the branch, Hezekiel Matentshi and Sipho Ramanasane,” said chairperson Elkeen Nobela.

The branch paid tribute to the five members who have since passed away. Over the years, the branch has grown from seven members to 107 active supporters.

The anniversary celebration was attended by various Orlando Pirates supporters’ branches from across the Gauteng provincial structure.

Supporters of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns were also invited to join the festivities in a spirit of unity and sportsmanship.

Members described the event as a blessed and successful occasion.

As part of the celebration, the Langaville branch slaughtered a cow and prepared meals for guests and supporters who attended the event.

The branch also expressed gratitude to East Rand coordinators Phumlani Ndlovu and Shawn Baartman for overseeing the elections and anniversary programme.

“We would like to thank all the branches that came through and supported us during this special milestone,” said Nobela.
