KGL U17 Colts Championship: Brong Ahafo and Prempeh Elite Academy target another win

Brong Ahafo and Prempeh Elite Academy will look to build on their strong starts when Matchday Three of the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship begins on Tuesday, October 6.

Brong Ahafo lead Group B with six points from two matches and will be seeking a third successive victory against Elite Academy BIG Boss at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

The first two matches of the day will begin at 8am. Eastern Region will face defending champions Ashanti Region on the betPawa pitch, while Brong Ahafo meet BIG Boss on the FIFA pitch.

Brong Ahafo’s perfect record has put them at the top of their section, but the side will need to overcome Elite Academy BIG Boss to maintain that position as the group-stage competition becomes more tightly contested.

At 10am, Elite Academy Prempeh College will defend their lead in Group A when they play Volta Region. The match will take place at the same time as the Group B fixture between Upper West Region and Western Region.

The afternoon schedule starts at 2pm, with Upper East Region taking on unbeaten Greater Accra. The final match of Matchday Three will see Northern Region play Central Region at the GFA Technical Centre.

The competition is sponsored by the KGL Foundation and is part of the Football Association’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

The scheme is designed to identify, develop and nurture emerging football talent across the country, with the championship bringing together some of Ghana’s leading young players at under-17 level.

The tournament gives those players the opportunity to demonstrate their technical quality and tactical awareness in a competitive setting. It also provides valuable match experience against some of the country’s finest young talents as the group stage continues.

With six fixtures scheduled across the day, the results will shape the standings in both groups and determine which teams can sustain their challenge as the championship progresses.
