Popular search engine, Google, has introduced a new feature that is set to change how readers access news online.
The update allows users to customise their news feed by selecting specific media platforms they want to see more often in their search results, regardless of Google’s algorithm.
With this feature, readers now have greater control over the sources that appear in their ‘Top Stories’ section.
As one of Nigeria’s leading online news platforms, Naija News is committed to delivering timely, accurate and engaging stories across politics, business, entertainment and social issues.
We would love our loyal readers to take advantage of this new Google feature by selecting Naija News as one of their preferred news sources. Doing so ensures you don’t miss our breaking news updates, in-depth political coverage, exclusive reports and expert opinions.
With the 2027 general elections gradually approaching, the information space is expected to become even more saturated, and in some cases, flooded with misinformation.
At Naija News, our commitment remains clear: factual, balanced and credible journalism.
Two Simple Ways to Add Naija News
There are two easy methods to make Naija News your go-to platform on Google:
1. Use the Direct Selection Link
Click on the designated Google news preference link and tick Naija News from the list of available publishers. Once selected, Google will prioritise stories from your chosen platforms in your search results.

2. Select from “Top Stories”
Simply search for any trending topic. On the results page, locate the icon next to the ‘Top Stories’ section as seen in the image below. Click it and choose Naija News as one of your preferred sources.
