…both officials in stable condition after convoy incident on Bolgatanga–Tumu Road
Two senior government officials are receiving medical attention but are in stable condition following a road traffic accident involving their official convoy on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road earlier today.
Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were travelling with their respective teams to the Upper West Region for scheduled official engagements when the incident occurred.
The ministers were en route to commemorate the 40th Anniversary celebrations of both Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education—two significant milestones in the region’s educational landscape.
In a statement issued by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Education Minister, the public has been assured that all members of the convoy are in stable condition and receiving the necessary medical attention.
“The Office of the Honourable Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, wishes to inform the public that the Minister and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology… are in stable condition following a road traffic accident,” the statement read.
The Office extended its gratitude to emergency responders who arrived promptly at the scene, health professionals attending to the officials, and members of the public who rendered swift assistance.
While further updates will be communicated as necessary, the confirmation of stable conditions across the convoy has been met with relief, particularly given the demanding travel schedules of public officials during this season of academic celebrations.
Both Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education are marking four decades of teacher training and tertiary education, contributing significantly to Ghana’s human resource development in the Upper West Region and beyond.
