The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has been honoured with the Global Cultural Ambassador Award at the Pre-Grammy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles, United States of America.
The award recognises individuals who have demonstrated leadership and influence in promoting culture, heritage, and global cultural exchange. The ceremony, part of the Grammy Awards week activities, brought together cultural leaders, creatives, policymakers, and change-makers from across the world.
Other awards were presented in categories including social impact, creative leadership, justice advocacy, community development, and humanitarian service.
The event was jointly organised by JOBSEEK AI, Los Angeles County Justice Care and Opportunity Department, Prison Professors, PBCG, ANE Foundation, Only Miracles, The Help In Hand Project, and Taking Action for Good, a coalition of organisations focused on empowerment, inclusion, innovation, and global social impact.

Maame Efua Houadjeto was accompanied to the ceremony by GTA Board member Prince Anthony and Director of Corporate Affairs, Bright Asempa Tsadidey, reflecting the Authority’s institutional representation at the international event.
In her acceptance speech, she thanked the organisers and highlighted Ghana’s cultural heritage, while inviting the global community to visit Ghana.

“I am deeply honoured and grateful to the organisers for this recognition. This award is not just personal—it is a celebration of Ghana’s rich culture and heritage. I warmly invite you to Ghana to experience our culture firsthand and enjoy the evergreen hospitality of the Ghanaian people,” she said.
The award underscores Ghana’s growing prominence on the international cultural and tourism stage and aligns with the GTA’s strategic focus on cultural diplomacy, destination branding, and sustainable tourism development.

The recognition also supports Ghana’s broader cultural and creative economy agenda, positioning the country as a hub for authentic cultural experiences, global collaboration, and cultural exchange.
The ceremony included photographs of the award presentation, which highlighted the participation of cultural and institutional representatives from Ghana and around the world.
