GTA announces first winner of Experience Ghana campaign

The Ghana Tourism Authority has announced the first winner of its ongoing Experience Ghana campaign, which was launched on May 4, 2026, as part of efforts to promote domestic tourism and digital storytelling across the country.

The initiative encourages Ghanaians and visitors to share authentic travel experiences, with the goal of positioning Ghana as a leading cultural and tourism destination through user-generated content and immersive storytelling.

Out of five curated content submissions that reached the final selection stage, Evans Nyeeli Wovenu, a member of the Nayelli Travelers Club, emerged as the overall winner after scoring the highest marks. He is described as an adventure enthusiast with a strong passion for travel and experience-based tourism, and was selected for the creativity and quality of his content under the campaign guidelines.

As part of the reward package, Wovenu received a 43-inch NASCO television set, presented by the Ghana Tourism Authority and its partners. The campaign is supported by industry stakeholders including Labadi Beach Hotel, Afro Arab Group, Tang Palace Hotel, and Laboma Beach Resort.

According to organisers, the reward forms part of a broader incentive structure aimed at encouraging participation and promoting creative tourism storytelling.

The Experience Ghana campaign forms part of a wider digital tourism strategy aimed at increasing visibility for Ghana’s tourism sector and encouraging domestic travel through social media engagement, content creation, and rewards-based participation.
