Ghanaian graphic designer Felix Frimpong has emerged as the winner of the Borderless Africa Logo Competition, organised by the Africa Prosperity Network (APN), after a rigorous evaluation of entries from across the continent and the global African diaspora.
Frimpong received a $1,000 cash prize for his entry, which stood out for its clarity and alignment with the “Make Africa Borderless Now!” vision. The award was presented on Thursday, 5 February 2026, during the SME Scale-Up Dialogue at the 2026 Africa Prosperity Dialogues, held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Speaking at the ceremony, Frimpong thanked God and the APN for the recognition, noting that the competition, though challenging, provided a platform for his talent to be showcased.
“I am grateful to APN for the honour given to me to put my talent out there,” he said. He added that he intends to continue supporting the initiative by using his creativity to promote African unity and integration. “I believe creativity plays a vital role in Africa’s integration agenda,” he noted, pledging to contribute to the vision of a united continent.
The competition, which opened on 14 January 2026, attracted 1,041 entries from designers across Africa and its global diaspora. Initially set to announce the winner on 26 January, organisers extended the deadline to ensure every submission received careful consideration. The large turnout highlights the enthusiasm for a unified Africa with seamless trade, travel, and economic integration.
Entries were judged through a four-stage process assessing creativity, conceptual clarity, and alignment with the campaign’s objectives. From the first round, 541 designs advanced, followed by 80 shortlisted in the second round. The third round narrowed the field to 10 finalists, with five entries competing in the final stage. Frimpong’s design earned the majority of votes in both the final and penultimate rounds.

His logo was praised for its ability to visually capture the single market agenda, reflecting the movement’s goals for unrestricted movement of people, goods, services, and capital across Africa. The winning design will be officially unveiled on the third day of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2026, coinciding with the formal launch of the “Make Africa Borderless Now!” movement, signalling the start of a continent-wide drive to advance African economic integration.
The movement itself advocates for the removal of barriers to trade, travel, and economic activity, seeking to unlock Africa’s full economic potential and improve the quality of life for citizens on the continent and across the diaspora.
The Africa Prosperity Network (APN), which organised the competition, is a Pan-African organisation focused on promoting economic integration, sustainable development, and shared prosperity through strategic initiatives, partnerships, and leadership programs aimed at transforming Africa’s economic landscape.
