Ghana, UK deepen cybersecurity cooperation on cybercrime, financial fraud and child online safety

Ghana and the United Kingdom have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation on cybersecurity, cyber-enabled crime, financial fraud and child online protection.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and the British High Commission as both sides explored areas for deeper collaboration on cybersecurity resilience.

The engagement also focused on the Pall Mall Process, an international initiative aimed at developing responsible behaviour in cyberspace, as well as cyber capacity building and international cyber governance.

A key area of discussion was increasing African participation in the Pall Mall Process and translating its principles into practical measures that can strengthen cybersecurity while protecting human rights.

The two sides also considered opportunities to expand cybersecurity awareness among secondary school students and strengthen cooperation on child online safety.

The engagement further highlighted the importance of greater regional cooperation across Africa in responding to cybersecurity threats.

The CSA said continued partnerships with international stakeholders would be important as Ghana works to strengthen its digital security and contribute to a safer and more resilient digital environment.

Ghana has also continued to position itself as a key player in Africa’s cybersecurity discussions, with international cooperation forming part of efforts to address emerging cyber threats and strengthen cyber resilience.
