The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has been honoured with the 2025 Outstanding Women of Honour Award at the 8th edition of the Impactful Women Awards, in recognition of her leadership and commitment to women empowerment and social development.
The award was formally presented during a courtesy call on the Minister by a delegation from the Impactful Women Awards Initiative, led by its Convener, Mr. Barry Joseph. The presentation also included a Certificate of Induction, officially admitting Dr. Lartey into the Impactful Women Award Hall of Fame.
Explaining the basis for the honour, Mr. Joseph said the Initiative—now in its eighth year and operating across Ghana and other African countries—celebrates women who have made sustained and measurable impact in fields such as politics, leadership, women empowerment, education, and health.
He noted that Dr. Lartey emerged as a standout nominee following a rigorous background assessment of her contributions to public service, community development initiatives, and direct engagement with her constituents. He described the Minister as one of the most visible and accessible women leaders in governance.
Mr. Joseph also highlighted the Initiative’s annual Breast Cancer Wellness Initiative, which focuses on raising awareness and providing support for women affected by breast cancer.
In her response, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey expressed appreciation to the Impactful Women Awards Initiative for the recognition, describing the honour as a motivation to intensify her work.

She reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the welfare of women, children and vulnerable persons through responsive policies and practical interventions, while commending the Initiative for spotlighting women’s contributions to empowerment and breast cancer awareness.
The award adds to growing recognition of Dr. Lartey’s role in advancing gender-focused governance and inclusive social development in Ghana.
