GCB Bank has dismissed reports linking its Labone branch to an alleged robbery incident, insisting that no robbery or attempted robbery occurred on the bank’s premises.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the bank said the reports followed an incident in the Labone area of Accra but clarified that its branch was not targeted.
According to GCB, the Labone branch was not breached at any point and no customer, member of staff, funds or property of the bank was affected.
The bank said the branch remains fully operational and secure, urging customers to continue carrying out their banking transactions with confidence.
“GCB Bank wishes to clarify that no robbery or attempted robbery took place at our Labone Branch or on the Bank’s premises,” the statement said.
The bank noted that it continues to maintain robust security measures across its nationwide network to safeguard customers, employees and its facilities.
It added that it is in contact with the relevant security authorities and will continue to monitor developments surrounding the incident.
GCB further assured customers and other stakeholders of its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure banking environment across all its branches.
