Galatasaray reject €150m Al-Hilal bid, €50m salary for Osimhen

Galatasaray have reportedly rejected a €150 million offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, despite the Saudi club also offering the forward a whopping €50 million annual salary.

Al-Hilal intensified their pursuit of the 27-year-old after Galatasaray made it clear they had no intention of selling their star striker this summer.

According to reports from Fanatik and Türkiye Gazetesi, Al-Hilal initially approached Galatasaray with a €130 million valuation before increasing their offer to €150 million after the Turkish champions refused to consider Osimhen’s departure.

The Saudi club were also prepared to offer Osimhen a net annual salary of €50 million to lure him to the Saudi Pro League.

However, Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek and the club’s board reportedly rejected the proposal and declined to enter formal negotiations with Al-Hilal.

Osimhen remains Arsenal target

The development comes as Arsenal continue to explore options to strengthen their attack before the summer transfer window closes.

Osimhen has emerged as a potential target for Mikel Arteta after the Gunners’ pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez became increasingly difficult.

The Nigerian international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United among the clubs previously interested in signing him.

Chelsea also came close to securing Osimhen’s signature in 2024, but the proposed transfer ultimately failed to materialise.

Arsenal’s interest could now provide another potential destination for the striker, although Galatasaray’s firm stance could make a deal difficult to complete.

Osimhen prioritises sporting ambitions

Reports suggest Osimhen has indicated that money will not be the decisive factor in determining his future.

That could complicate Al-Hilal’s pursuit despite their willingness to offer the Nigerian a lucrative €50 million annual salary.
