A 21-year-old woman was shot dead in her John Dube Village home on August 30.
According to Duduza SAPS Social Crime Prevention coordinator and communications officer Constable Nobuhle Mnisi, police found a family member of the deceased upon arrival at the scene.
“The family members informed the police that the deceased was at her place of residence washing dishes in the kitchen when two unknown men walked in and had a brief conversation with the deceased.
“The family member then heard a gun shot coming from the kitchen,” said Mnisi.
“The family member then went to check what was happening, which is when they found the lifeless body of the woman lying on the kitchen floor with a bullet wound.”
Duduza SAPS opened a murder case docket. The motive for the shooting and the suspects are unknown.
The SAPS urges anyone with information that can assist with the investigation to contact 082 828 6048.
