CFAO Mobility engages DVLA over unauthorised DP sticker controversy

CFAO Mobility Ghana has held high-level talks with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) following concerns over the use of unauthorised Drive from Port (DP) stickers on some vehicles at the Tema Harbour.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, was led by the company’s Managing Director and Country Delegate, Adedamola Adelabu, as part of efforts to address the issue and ensure regulatory compliance.

The development follows a recent statement by the DVLA raising concerns about the use of unapproved DP stickers, as well as an earlier response by CFAO Mobility Ghana.

According to the company, discussions between the two parties were “cordial and productive,” with both sides reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the integrity of Ghana’s vehicle registration and clearance systems.

CFAO Mobility Ghana reiterated its adherence to established regulatory procedures and pledged closer collaboration with the DVLA to prevent any recurrence.

Preliminary findings by the company suggest that the incident may have been caused by the actions of certain individuals within a third-party clearing agency involved in the vehicle clearance process.

The company indicated that investigations are ongoing in collaboration with law enforcement authorities to establish the full circumstances surrounding the issue and ensure accountability where necessary.

CFAO Mobility Ghana further emphasised its commitment to maintaining transparency and strengthening its relationship with regulatory institutions, including the DVLA, to promote compliance and uphold industry standard.
