The National Communications Authority (NCA) will hold a pre-application briefing for prospective applicants seeking spectrum licences in the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz and 3 GHz mid bands for mobile broadband services, including 5G.
The briefing is scheduled for Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the NCA Tower in Accra.
The session follows the NCA’s July 16 announcement inviting applications for spectrum licences in the specified bands.
The Authority said the briefing will allow prospective applicants and other eligible parties to seek clarification on the Request for Applications (RFA) and the Selection and Award Procedure.
Issues to be addressed are expected to include the spectrum lots available, eligibility criteria, application requirements, rollout obligations and the evaluation process.
Attendance is restricted to entities eligible to apply under the RFA. These include licensed Mobile Network Operators, Mobile Virtual Network Operators, Broadband Wireless Access Providers, Internet Service Providers and new entrants that are 100 per cent Ghanaian-owned, subject to the detailed eligibility requirements set out in the RFA.
Prospective applicants who wish to attend the briefing are required to pre-register with the NCA by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, by emailing the Authority at [email protected].
Attendance will be subject to confirmation by the NCA.
The Request for Applications and the Selection and Award Procedure are available on the NCA’s official website, providing prospective applicants with the requirements and procedures governing the spectrum licensing process.
