Ivory Coast head coach Emerse Fa has praised his players despite the painful 2-1 defeat to Norway in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.The coach was left rueing missed chances on Tuesday after the Elephants suffered a narrow defeat to their European opponent.On the matchday, goals from Antonio Nusa and Erling Haaland did the trick for Norway, with Amad Diallos stunning strike only serving as a consolation for the Ivorians.Speaking to beIN SPORTS in a post-match interview, Emerse Fa hailed his players’ performance, insisting they gave everything on the day but fell short.Thats football; when scoring opportunities present themselves, you have to take advantage of them and convert them into goals.Unfortunately, we conceded that decisive goal in the dying moments of the match. Despite that, the players gave their all and fought bravely until the final whistle, but we faced a courageous opponent who defended resolutely and maintained their lead until the very end, Emerse Fae said.The coach believes that the Ivory Coast players will learn from their experience at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and return stronger for the next edition.
