Montgomery Group Africa wins two AAXO ROAR Awards

Montgomery Group Africa has secured two Excellence in Marketing awards at the AAXO ROAR Awards, held on 26 March at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The recognition highlights the company’s strong performance in exhibition marketing, with two of its flagship events receiving top honours.

Industry Celebrates Excellence

Now in its seventh year, the awards were hosted under the theme The Ubuntu Legacy: Building Community, Celebrating Excellence. The event brought together organisers and industry leaders to recognise innovation, collaboration and impact across Africa’s exhibitions sector.

Double Win for Propak Exhibitions

Montgomery Group Africa was recognised for two major exhibitions. Propak Africa received the award for Best Trade Exhibition over 6000m², while Propak West Africa won in the category for Best Trade Exhibition under 6000m².

These awards recognise campaigns that deliver strong strategic thinking, creative execution and measurable results.

Portfolio Director Mark Anderson described the recognition as a meaningful milestone for the team and the broader industry. He noted that the awards evening provided an opportunity to celebrate the work being done across the sector.

Marketing Strategy Drives Results

The awards reflect the impact of the company’s integrated marketing approach. Campaigns focused on multi-channel strategies that strengthened audience engagement and delivered measurable growth.

This included increased visitor numbers, stronger media visibility and improved overall event experiences. Anderson added that the team continues to refine how it connects with audiences by combining data-led insights with creative execution.

Strong Momentum Across the Sector

The awards come at a time of renewed growth for the exhibitions industry. Hostex recently marked its 40th anniversary, recording a 16.5 percent increase in visitors compared to 2024, along with exhibitor growth of more than 60 percent.

Looking ahead, Montgomery Group Africa is preparing for several major events. These include RE+ South Africa in June, alongside Securex, A-OSH Expo, Facilities Management and Firexpo.

Later in the year, Electra Mining Africa returns in September in Johannesburg, followed by Propak Cape in October in Cape Town. The company has also announced AgroPro Africa 2028, which will focus on food, beverage and processing industries.

Managing Director Gary Corin says the awards recognise the work of the team and reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering value-driven exhibitions across Africa.
