CFO Africa 2026 brings finance leaders together

CFO Africa 2026 brings finance leaders together

The 9th Annual CFO Africa conference returns from 7 to 9 July 2026 in Johannesburg, bringing together finance leaders from across the continent to address the realities shaping modern financial leadership.

As economic uncertainty, rising interest rates and rapid technological change reshape the role of the CFO, finance teams face increasing pressure to deliver sharper insights with fewer resources. At the same time, responsibilities continue to expand across governance, ESG, compliance and enterprise strategy.

A platform for practical insight and leadership

CFO Africa offers a space for finance professionals to exchange practical strategies, challenge conventional thinking and strengthen their leadership approach. The event focuses on real-world solutions that support decision-making in complex and fast-changing environments.

Key themes shaping the future of finance

The 2026 programme explores the most pressing areas facing finance leaders today. Sessions will cover strategic hedging and exposure management, with a focus on navigating currency volatility, inflation and supply chain disruption.

Finance transformation and artificial intelligence will take centre stage, with insights on moving beyond automation to build intelligent, data-driven finance functions.

Delegates will also engage with scenario planning and forecasting strategies that strengthen resilience, alongside governance discussions that prepare organisations for the transition from King IV to King V.

Additional focus areas include building high-performance finance teams, expanding finance’s role in enterprise strategy and value creation, and developing the mindset required to transition from CFO to CEO-level leadership.

Mental health and leadership resilience will also be addressed, with a focus on managing stress, burnout and decision fatigue in high-pressure finance roles.

Influential voices from across Africa

More than 25 senior finance and business leaders will share insights and experiences. Speakers include Susanne Swaniker from De Beers, Ziphozihle Wonci from Schneider Electric, Chembe Chakalashi from Citi Zambia and Loshni Naidoo from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

Additional speakers include Dr Mark Nasila from FNB, Craig Henery from DHL, Lara Hodes from Investec and Varsha Mistri from Reckitt, alongside leaders from Pfizer, Danone, Coca-Cola and the South African Broadcasting Corporation.

Post-conference workshop on AI in finance

An exclusive full-day workshop on 9 July will focus on building AI-enabled finance functions.

Facilitated by digitalisation specialist Godfrey W. Kyama, the session will provide a structured approach to integrating artificial intelligence into finance operations. Participants will work through practical use cases, governance frameworks and implementation strategies designed to deliver measurable value.

Why finance leaders should attend

The conference provides an opportunity to strengthen forecasting, liquidity and risk management capabilities in a volatile environment.

It also offers practical insight into how artificial intelligence and data analytics are reshaping financial decision-making, while equipping leaders to build stronger teams and prepare for evolving regulatory demands.

Delegates will leave with a clearer roadmap for finance transformation and a stronger foundation for leadership in a rapidly changing landscape.
