The Basketball Africa League (BAL) and PUMA have announced a multi-year collaboration that will see the global sportswear giant become the league’s official outfitter.
The partnership, which begins with the 2026 BAL season tipping off on Friday, March 27, will see PUMA supply all official team, fan, and referee apparel. This includes game uniforms, warm-up kits, training gear, accessories, and branded apparel for the league’s social impact and player development programmes.

BAL President, Amadou Gallo Fall, described the agreement as a strategic step in advancing basketball development on the continent.
“Our collaboration with PUMA reflects our shared commitment to elevating the African sports industry and basketball in particular,” he said. “PUMA’s innovation, creativity and deep connection to the continent’s sports ecosystem make them an ideal partner as we continue to grow the league and enhance the experience for teams, players and fans.”
PUMA’s Vice President of Sports Marketing and Licensing, Johan Adamsson, said the deal aligns with the brand’s global growth ambitions.
“This collaboration with the BAL is an important step in our commitment to growing the game worldwide. We look forward to bringing our performance technology to the forefront of African basketball and connecting with BAL fans globally,” he said.
PUMA joins a growing list of BAL partners, including the Rwanda Development Board, Afreximbank, Air Senegal, Amazon Web Services, Castle Lite, and RwandAir.
The BAL, launched as a partnership between FIBA and NBA Africa, features 12 club teams from across Africa and will tip off its sixth season in March 2026, continuing its mission to expand the reach and commercial strength of basketball on the continent.
