First Lady Lordina Dramani Mahama has joined fellow African first ladies at the 30th Ordinary Assembly of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
The meeting is being held alongside the 39th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The two-day gathering is themed “Building Resilience”, focusing on strengthening African communities amid current global challenges such as economic pressures, health crises, and social development needs.

Following the opening session, the first ladies and their technical advisors held a closed-door meeting to discuss strategies and plans before joining their husbands for the official opening of the AU Heads of State Assembly.
Mrs Mahama, widely recognised for her commitment to women’s empowerment, children’s welfare, and community development, is scheduled to address the assembly on Sunday.

Her participation underscores Ghana’s active role in promoting social development and resilience across the continent.
