The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with National Security and the Ghana Police Service, has arrested 48 suspected members of a transnational cybercrime syndicate in Dawhenya, Greater Accra.
The operation, carried out between 1:40 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, was described as “intelligence-led,” targeting organised cybercrime networks operating in the country.
Among those arrested were 46 men and 2 women, all believed to be Nigerian nationals.
They are accused of engaging in online criminal activities, including romance scams, online investment fraud, impersonation schemes, and illicit gold trading via the internet.

Authorities also seized a significant cache of equipment, including 54 laptops, 39 mobile phones, one Starlink satellite internet device, and eight MTN TurboNet routers, highlighting the syndicate’s sophisticated operations.

“This latest arrest follows a series of similar joint operations aimed at dismantling organised cybercrime networks operating within the country,” the CSA said in a statement.
One suspected ringleader, identified as Autin Osas, also known as “Austin,” remains at large. Investigators have confirmed that manhunts and further investigations are ongoing.

The CSA reminded the public of its commitment to cybersecurity and the available 24-hour reporting channels for suspicious online activities.
CSA has urged citizens to report Incidents via call or text to 292, WhatsApp at 050 160 3111, or email at [email protected].

The operation reflects an intensified inter-agency effort to secure Ghana’s cyberspace against increasingly complex transnational threats.
