Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Mama Pat, has formally withdrawn allegations she made earlier this year against gospel musician Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye, issuing an unreserved public apology through her lawyers.
The apology, dated 4 December 2025 and signed by Richard Asare Baffour of Agyaa Asamani Law Consult, acknowledges that the posts Mama Pat published in May 2025 were made “in the spur of the moment” in reaction to comments previously made by Hopeson Adorye. According to the statement, those posts were misinterpreted as direct attacks on the morality and character of Empress Gifty.
The law firm stated clearly that the allegations contained in Mama Pat’s posts were “false and completely without merit,” adding that she “retracts every statement made therein.”
Her counsel further emphasised that the Evangelist accepts full responsibility for the harm caused.
“Our client also offers an unqualified and sincere apology to Empress Gifty Adorye for the harm these false statements have caused to her personal and professional reputation, character, and well-being,” the statement noted.
The apology was also extended to Empress Gifty’s family, friends, and colleagues for any pain and distress the earlier publications may have caused.
The lawyer accompanying the retraction also shared a reflective note on justice and reconciliation, stressing that legal processes should ultimately promote peace rather than deepen division.
