Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has taken over as Chairman of the newly constituted Board of Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited (PSGL), the gold-mining subsidiary of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
The Energy and Green Transition Minister, John Abdulai Jinapor, inaugurated the Board on Tuesday 18 November 2025 on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
PSGL has been tasked to scale up the extraction of gold from tailings and waste ore deposits, a mandate government believes will boost value addition in the mining sector while opening up economic opportunities for communities around Prestea.
In his remarks, Jinapor urged the new Board to approach its work with diligence and integrity, noting that the company has the potential to return to its position as a key contributor to the natural resources value chain.
“The company’s mandate is straightforward, and the potential is enormous. With committed leadership, PSGL can be restored as a strong pillar within Ghana’s resource sector,” he said.

Serving with Ashie Moore on the Board are Kwame Ntow Amoah, Hajia Amina Adam and Alhaji Ishaq Dauda. Their blend of industry knowledge and managerial experience is expected to support the revival of PSGL operations and aid efforts to enhance efficiency and profitability.
The Board is expected to begin work immediately, focusing on strengthening governance systems, streamlining operations and positioning the company for long-term sustainability.
